For years, The Dapper Gentleman has served clients who value craftsmanship, comfort, and a refined sense of personal style. Today, I’m pleased to introduce a new extension of that mission — one created specifically for men who serve in ministry and within the church community.
Of the Cloth is a clergy-focused line designed to bring clarity, confidence, and purpose back into dressing for worship, preaching, and formal church events. The vision began during the height of COVID, when I was asked to create pieces that would help clients look presentable and feel at ease during services. Many shared how stressful it could be to think about what to wear — especially when trying to enter the right frame of mind for worship. The distraction of assembling an outfit, particularly on busy Sundays, wasn’t serving them.
That experience revealed something important:
Those who minister deserve garments that support their calling — not compete with it.
Fast-forward to today, and that idea has grown into a dedicated line built around professionalism, simplicity, and reverence. Every piece in Of the Cloth is created to help preachers, ministers, and churchgoers present themselves well, command a room appropriately, and represent Christ with excellence.
Our standard house cut features a clean, mid-thigh silhouette with a band (mandarin) collar — a shape that strikes a balance between elegance and function. The garments are engineered for movement, comfort, and long hours of ministry, with refined details such as double back pleats and an option for either barrel or French cuffs. Clients can choose from a curated selection of both shirt fabrics (such as cotton, bamboo, and denier blends) and suiting-inspired materials (including wool and corduroy) to create pieces that suit their personal style, setting, and rhythm of service.
At its core, Of the Cloth reflects a simple conviction:
Those who serve should feel prepared, focused, and confident — free from the distraction of figuring out what to wear.
When your garments are thoughtfully designed, you can devote your full attention to what matters most.
Whether you’re preaching, leading, or attending formal church events, our goal is to provide attire that complements your calling and supports you in the work you’ve been entrusted with.
If you’re interested in commissioning a piece or learning more about what the line offers, I invite you to book a consultation. I’d be honoured to help you create something worthy of your ministry.
